Mr. Keith L. Davis, Principal
My name is Keith L. Davis. I was originally raised in Norlina, NC and later grew up and graduated from the Richmond/Chesterfield, VA areas. My educational career began 18 years ago. I taught theater arts at the high school level for 3 years in the Chesterfield County Public School system in Va. My career in Craven County Public Schools began in 2008 as I served as the theater arts teacher and director for Grover C. Fields Middle School(GCF) for 7 dynamic years. Upon leaving the classroom, I participated in both phases of the CCS (G.R.O.W.) Leadership program, and was promoted to the role of Assistant Principal in 2015 serving 4 consecutive years at the middle school level at GCF. In 2019, I transitioned to the elementary school level to serve 3 rewarding years at J.T. Barber Elementary School followed by recently completing an amazing 2022-23 school year at Trent Park Elementary School in the role of assistant principal.
My scholastic background includes a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in Music Theatre with a dual concentration in Religious Studies from Elon University. I earned my certification in Education from East Carolina University and a Masters of Science degree in School Administration from Scranton University. There is a quote that says, “Kids do not care how much you know until they know how much you care.” I am highly committed to the promising success of every student I serve and believe that every educator has the same capability to leave a great and lasting impact on both the academic and personal experiences of each child." I enjoy spending time with my family, serving in ministry, relaxing and binge-watching new television shows/ movies, traveling, and can be seen from time to time performing live on stage in plays and musicals at some of New Bern’s premiere theaters.

Mrs. Daniel Banks, Interim Assistant Principal
My name is Danielle Banks. I am a native of Carteret County, where I grew up in the Down East community of Otway. I reside in Trent Woods with my husband, Tony, and our daughter, Avery. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, scrapbooking, baking, and spending quality time with my family.
This is my 24th year in education, and I have had the privilege of teaching multiple grade levels in several districts. I began teaching in 2001 at Arapahoe Charter School, teaching 4th and 6th grade. I later taught 3rd through 5th grade in Carteret County before joining Craven County Schools in 2006, where I taught 5th grade at Brinson Memorial Elementary. In 2007, I completed my Master’s of Library Science Degree from East Carolina University and transitioned into the role of Media Coordinator at Creekside Elementary in New Bern. I spent 16 rewarding years there, during which I became National Board Certified and earned my Master’s of School Administration from Gardner Webb University.
In 2023, I had the opportunity to shift my focus to school climate and behavior support, taking on the role of School Climate, Culture, and Behavior Support Specialist at H.J. MacDonald Middle School.
Throughout my career, I’ve learned many valuable lessons. Still, the most important is that as educators, we are responsible for loving and caring for our students and creating a safe, nurturing space for them to learn and grow. This belief has been and will continue to be, at the heart of my work as an educator. I look forward to getting to know the staff and students of GAB and being a part of the Jet family.
